Melanie Highbloom

Through the use of reflections in window displays, I attempted to show the contrast of human culture, nature, and landscape.  The reflections of people in commercialized, mass produced window displays was representative of this conflict and culture clash.  The first image, IMG_6399r, is of a cracked window with a person walking by reflected in it.  You can also see a chair inside the restaurant sort of fade into a table outside, on the street, but shown in the reflection.  In the second image, IMG_6656r, it is of a storefront selling clothing and musical band paraphernalia such as posters or memorabilia.  Reflected in the image is a restaurant storefront, and people walking by on the street.  The image is completely faded and composed of basically the two separate images.  On this image, I raised the blacks to show more of a contrast.  For both photos, I was shooting in daylight on a raw setting with a Cannon Rebel.
