Nichole Powell
I began trying to interpret the distinction between nature and culture within my own worldview - trying to understand the connection between the things I found beautiful in nature and the things I found beautiful in culture. Jewelry has always appealed to me as a cultural way of adorning the natural, though it is generally found adorning the natural body. Instead, I focused on using jewelry as an adornment to nature's beauty, and shot a series with various pieces from my own personal jewelry collection in the natural landscape around me. I hope you enjoy.
Photos were shot with a fixed lens megazoom Panasonic DMC FZ35. No enhancements were made aside from slight color enrichment when necessary.
