The first piece is a picture of the north branch of the Chicago River. If you look at the stones placed as a barrier to the river, you will notice two tree stumps breaking through the stones. I believe this shows that nature cannot be contained by man.
The second piece shows a man-made path through a local park. This shows human culture going through and around nature working in harmony with it. The path has many leaves resting on it - but this is not harming the path and the path is not harming nature.
This pictures were taken with my Nikon D3000 camera. There was slight editing done using photoshop to brighten the photograph.
